Summary

Currently I am the UN Guard Unit Coordinator of the Liquidation Entity (MINUSMA) from January 2024 to date. I plan and coordinate all the activities of the two units providing security to the UN Personnel and properties in the two UN Camps in Mali (Gao and Bamako). From August 2020 to December 2023, I was the Deputy Chief of Operations/ Formed Police Units (FPU) Coordinator P4 at the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA). I have also been working with MINUSMA from 2014 to 2020 as an Individual Police Officer (IPO) coordinating and planning operations security activities of the FPUs deployed in MINUSMA. I have experience in strategic and operational planning during my services. I was the UN Police representative responsible for security related matters while collaborating with UNDSS. During the accelerated DDR processes in MINUSMA from 2016 to 2023, I have contributed a lot in the planning of the process and execution in different camps like Kidal, Menaka, Gao, Timbuktu. I have provided technical inputs to the planning, design and implementation of projects, where the ex-combatant handed over their arms and were transported to Bamako for training. As a Police Officer, I took part in the recoding of the arms and biometrics registration as well as technical advice and assistance to SSR and DDR unit management as well as Government representatives. When the screening of the ex-combatants is completed, I liaise with logistics section of the mission to provide armed security to them and when they arrived in Bamako, I hand them over to the Government representatives who are Militaries for them to be trained. I also support in the monitoring and evaluation of key components of DDR processes and follow-up to identify issues and prepare briefing notes to the senior leadership of the mission. Develop and review the DDR inputs to the reports of the SRSG through the Police Commissioner. I provided training programmes for institutional capacity building to the Military and Police personnel supporting the DDR process. I have a lot of experience in security management, crisis readiness, and planning preparedness.
